I'm not very good at explaining stuff

Is there a way to link .so files? Like if I run /home/user1/program1, /home/user2/program1 and have the .so in /usr/local/bin ?

Is LD_LIBRARY_PATH what i'm looking for?

want u want exactly? if u want create symbolic link u can use ln-s command.

I would like to run programs that use the same .so .

Then create symbolic link in ur home directory to .so and use the new created link in ur program

EX:

ln -s .so /home/user1/link1


U can use link1 in ur program

so if i had the .so in /usr/local/lib/*.so and i'm in /home/user1

i just do ls -fns /usr/local/lib/*.*
then ./program1 ?

also how do I hardlink em?

Are you getting errors when you run the programs? If so can you post the messages? It's more effective to post the question you want answered, than assume a solution and ask about that (possibly incorrect) assumption.

I haven't tried to do ln with files yet. I did do ln test.txt ../www/test.html and it works, but the files isn't hardlinked. How do I hardlink them?

When I try with the program I'll get back at you guys
