Having some problems with Redhat and Internet

Hi everyone.
I installed Redhat 9 couple days ago, and I just can't connect it to the Internet.
I have D-Link 604 router, and another desktop connected to it. But I just can't get Linux connect to router.
Maybe someone can explain what do I have to do, where to click (step-by-step) if possible, I'm newbie to this.
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Okay, I assume that you are using DHCP to give out IP addresses?
Well here you go:
1)Make sure you are logged in as root. If you aren't, then open up a terminal and type:
Code:
su -
2)Next:
Code:
ifconfig eth0 up
If that doesn't return any output, then that means it has completed with no errors.
3)Now see if that gave you an IP address:
Code:
ifconfig eth0
If it did, then you are done.
4)If not, type:
Code:
dhclient eth0
That should work!

internet connection

if u r using DSL by DHCP you can try the followings:
1. netconfig-setup networking - yes
use the dynamic ip configuration

2. vi /etc/resolv.conf (delete everything in there and insert your ISP details):
nameserver 194.168.4.100
nameserver 194.168.8.100
(these settings are working perfectly fot ntl)

3. restart your network services ( /sbin/service network restart)
finally,
check if your IP is valid: /sbin/ifconfig
done

(excuse my English...)!
