    complete automated installation using kickstart

    Hi,
I want to install Red hat based custom OS in a complete automated mode.I ll have my kick start file inside the CD rom and when I boot with that ISO or CD.The OS should start installing by taking parameters from the kick start file without having to specify the path of the kick start file inside the CD.like "linux ks=<path>".Is it possible to achieve this by writing any script or something so that when the CD boots the kick start path is passed automatically to the anaconda installer.

    Thanks,
    Arul

The way it's designed to work is for the ks.cfg file to be in / of the cd. Is that not working automatically?

You may modify your isolinux.cfg file to set the default startup label to an entry giving the ks location. I usually use /tmp for my kickstart files.

    Hi ,

@greyhairweenie :Even the kickstart file is in the root level directory ,it still needs this command

    "linux ks=cdrom:/ks.cfg"

@le_forban :can you please give me an example of how to give a default startup label in the isolinux.cfg file? If I have my ks.cfg file in / of my ISO.

    Thanks,
