Hyper Threading?

Hello,

I am running RH9 on a P4 3.2 with HT.

Does linux support hyper threading?
If so, is there anything I need to do, setup, install, configure,
to get it to take advantage of it?

Thank you all in advance!!!

Yes it does, it should be automatically compiled into your kernel, rh is a little old so maybe you should get fedora. If you wanna stick with RedHat, download a newish kernel source and compile it with HyperThreading options.

Hyper-Threading will make your processor show up as multiple processors, and Linux does support it as long as you use an SMP-enabled kernel. Most distributions these days will detect a hyper-threaded CPU and install the correct kernel automatically.

techieMoe is correct btw.

Umm, probably Fedora Core 2, considering it's quite well stable now,
But personally, I would use Debian or FreeBSD for server use anyway.
