Setting up DNS but can't find named.conf

I can't find named.conf or any other DNS/Bind components. Was under the impression that Bind comes with redhat linux so I did a search and found 2 files:
bind.n.gz and bind.1, but don't really know what to do with them.

I considered ignoring these files and downloading and installing the bind rpm afresh but don't know if it is necessary.

Can anyone advise on where to go from here.
Thanks

You can see if it is already installed by running this command:

rpm -qa | grep -P '^bind'

I tried rpm -qa | grep -i 'bind'
and it displayed:
bind-utils-9.1.3-5

Is this the only file I need and if so how do I determine where this file is and how do I extract named.conf and other DNS file components from it.

Thanks

It should be in /etc/log.d/conf/services/. If it's not, just type in
Code:
locate named.conf
and you should get the location for it. Hope that helps....

ok, I did find a named.conf file but I think it is a log file it doesn't have any zone definitions or anything.

The one I found is located in: /etc/log.d/conf/services/named.conf
Shouldn't there be one in /etc/?
