PCI: failed to allocate mem resource error. PCIe? FC3-64bit

I just built my new workstation based on the K8N-DL motherboard (nforce4 Pro chipset). I want to set up dual boot with Windows XP and FC3-64bit. Windows install/set-up took 30 mins but FC3 gives several error messages just after grub boots up the kernel.

PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 0 of device 0000:02:00.0
PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 3 of device 0000:04:00.0
Failed to allocate mem resource #3:1000000@fc000000 for 0000:04:00.0

After getting to the X init stage a distorted X windows screen (the welcome screen?) appears and the machine halts.
I edited /etc/inittab and booted in runlevel 3 wich was successful but I have no idea what to do to get X running properly.

Anyone got any ideas?

Steven

I have "successfully" installed the nvidia driver but I only get a blank screen upon entering startx.
