How do I change the video resolution from the command-line?

FC4 - I think I've installed the wrong video/monitor resolution. The system boots up fine then goes to black. Can someone tell me how to change the monitor from the command line?...also, how do I boot to the command line, anyway?

Use either xorgconfig or xf86config to re-configure the X System.

Note: Those commands must be run as root.

Use <ctrl><alt><F1> to get to a text login. Do this from the blank screen ur getting from bootup, then u can login as root.

Send a message via Yahoo to vsolank1
Go to:
$ cd /etc/X11
$ gedit xorg.conf

Then change the Video Resolution under the Screen Section.
Also you can check whether the color setting is Thousands of Color or Millions of Color.
I has the problem but I changed from Millions to Thousand...
$ system-config-display

You will get a Display GUI and then you can change the settings n reboot.
