najmaa Just Joined! Join Date: Jun 2005 Posts: 4	Blank screen on boot Hi, I am a newbie to Linux. I have Windows XP installed and have recently installed Fedora Core 1 and made a dual boot.. Since then, whenever I boot into Fedora, I get a blank screen, but I can see the pointer, and I can move it.. Pressing CTRL+ALT+f# doesn't do anyting.. I only got to see the screen once, first time after installing it. I have about the same problem (No pointer though) with Windows since the installation, but I can get to the normal screen after hibernating (Closing the lid of the laptop and opening), but I can't hibernate with Linux!! Anyhelp is appreciated.

vsolank1 Just Joined! Join Date: Jul 2005 Location: Newyork Posts: 66	Well I have suggestion, why are you installing Fedora Core 1, why not try installing FC version 4 and see if it works it comes with the latest kernel upgrade. Just a suggestion

najmaa Just Joined! Join Date: Jun 2005 Posts: 4	It's too hard to find Fedora Core 4 where I live (Iraq).. I have to be satisfied with what I have right now, especially that I am only trying Linux..
