How much space is on my hard drive?
I was wondering if there was any way I could type in a command to tell me how much free space I have left on my hard drive. That's it.

this command will do what you're looking for:
it displays the total, used, and available amount of space for each partitionCode:df -h

Another useful command you may use along with this is du which you can use against a file or folder to get it's size (disk usage). The same -h switch works to make the file sizes 'human readable'.
