rpm problem
Hi all,

I just install Fedora core 6 and i found out there is quite alot of problem using it... (a bit of disappointed).. but this topic is discuss about RPM problem.

No matter which RPM package i try to run using Gnome package manager or console, the program can be install but the package manager/ console will just hang there..

I tried
d4x-2.5.7.1-1.i386.rpm
xchat-2.6.8-1.i686.rpm

they return same result... any idea??

even jre-1_5_0_10-linux-amd64.rpm return the same result....

Are these files locate on your hard drive?
use the rpm command in a terminal, and you must be root to do this.
Code:
rpm -Uhv d4x-2.5.7.1-1.i386.rpm
Code:
rpm -Uhv xchat-2.6.8-1.i686.rpm
Have a look-see at the manpages while you have a terminal open
Code:
man rpm
The package manager uses yum, and it requires an Internet connection.

strange... the rpm thing goes well after i restart linux....
