Unhappy Ethernet Problems

Ok, heres the deal,

I have a home built machine that is hard wired into my network.

Dual boot setup, with Windows XP Home, and Fedora 5 x86.

Asus motherboard with dual Nforce Gigabit Ethernet ports.

In Windoze I can access the internet fine, not a problem.

Linux side however I cannot get a connection out and I have varified that I am setting up the correct ethernet port on my box, and I have installed the vendor issued FC5 Nforce drivers for my motherboard, yet for some reason I cannot ping out or get any type of connection. I have set up my network to statically set IP's so I have set it correctly, everything is setup like it is supposed to work, same setup as my Laptop wich is running FC5 and can connect just fine. However its not working if you have any Idea's let me know and it will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all

well, here's some things to try:

"lspci" verify ethernet device type

"lsmod" look for the driver module

"ifconfig eth0 up" or eth1 or whatever

"ifconfig eth0 w.x.y.z"
