Fedora 7...audio problem - laptop

Hello

I have just installed Fedora 7 on my Toshiba Satellite p100-10P laptop.
Sound drivers are installed, but I get no sound. I get the error:
Quote:
cannot detect sound card
Ive got a Toshiba Bass Enhanced Sound System with SRS® TruSurround XT™ technology I will check in Vista for more details.

Ive tryed ALSA and Conexant CX20549 (venice) device.

Any ideas?

Did you try using alsaconf from the command line to see if it detects your card?

I think alsaconf was removed from the version of alsa-utils shipped by Fedora. The last time I had issues with my soundcard, I rebuilt the alsa-utils rpm and enabled building of alsaconf. An alternative would be to install alsa-utils from source.

[root@localhost jan]# yum install alsa-utils
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Setting up Install Process
Parsing package install arguments
Nothing to do

Do I need any repos or I should I download a rpm and install?

I'm not using Fedora 7 yet, but make sure you have enabled the Livna repo, and if daark.child is right, you might have to install it from source instead of an rpm.

Do you use KDE?
I seem to remember seeing a "detect soundcard" in the K-menu>system or somewhere like that, maybe they removed it from Fedora7.
Is the module for your card being loaded? post the output of
Code:
lsmod
Or maybe try the system-config-sound, sorry I don't have Fedora in front of me, can't verify this.
