Red face Hide Directory in Linux

Hey,
Do anyone knows how to hide directory in linux? I am able to restrict file or folder access.
but i am unable to hide it. Is that possible?

just rename the file/directory by adding "."(dot) at the beggining

rename sample - .sample

additionlly u can create a document with name ".hidden" and name all the directories/files("." must not be present) which you want to hide in it
