    I would highly suggest you upgrade your kernel. 2.4 is far too old these days and most distro's use 2.6. It is highly stable and there is very little reason not using it.

    The last he mentioned was ubuntu and not kubuntu so I would maybe suggest bum as to get kcontrol would pull all the KDE stuff to and would fill the system. :)
