password length problem
Hi
I have an amazing password authentication problem in my linux boxes...
When I had installed the o/s, it was accepting 11 characters password..
Later after I changed the password, it is taking into consideration only the first 9 characters.
Earlier, I had to type all the 11 characters to get in..but as of now, even if the password length is 12 or something, it is only using first 9 characters..
By the way, my boxes are running 2.6.9-67.0.15.EL Red Hat
What might have gone wrong ??? Any Ideas ???

use md5 password please, if not, just 9 character of password accept.
use command authconfig ( both rhel 1.X ~ 5.X and rehdat 7.X 8.X 9.X )
