What is the most eligible method to ban IP ..
Looking for eligible solution to ban IP on excessive 404 errors for Apache. Like you could define that 5x 404 requests to your Apache and then that IP will get banned.

Fail2ban would place the ip address into the firewalls drop zone.

Thanks, seems to do what i wanted. I was thinking about scripting one myself but no need to bother.
