    Another FTP Query

    Hi All ,

    We are using Linux 2.1 Advanced Server . We have enabled wu-ftpd on our server . When we try to FTP to this server we get following response . What must have gone wrong ? We are using default settings as far as FTP-config files are concerned . Please help .

    $ftp myserver
    Connected to myserver.
    500 myserver FTP server shut down -- please try again later.

    I would *very* carefully read through the config file, cross-referencing it as I went along with the manpage(s).

    Most server daemons have permissions turned *off* by default for security reasons. This forces you to change the config to only allow it to do what you need it to.
    Their code will be beautiful, even if their desks are buried in 3 feet of crap. - esr
