    External Hard Drive Encryption

    Hi all,
I need an encryption solution that gives my external hard drive plug-it-in-anywhere password protection. I need to be able to read/write to it from both Windows and Linux OS machines and without any software installed on at least some of the computers. (my work WinXP laptop is locked down so I can't install anything). Will TrueCrypt work for this or is there a better solution? I prefer to have two partitions so I have NTFS and EXT4 formats if possible.

I can be found either 40 miles west of Chicago, in Chicago, or in a galaxy far, far away.

Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
