How to stop Spam from my server? Please help

Hi,

I am a newbie and have run into a problem on my LAMP stack.
The server is running Linux 2.6.18 with Plesk 10.3.1

I have looked everywhere using grep for mail script in the 100 or so virtual domains but nothing.

QMAIL is active as it is needed for contact forms on websites to send mail, so I can't just shut all mail servers down. As for email accounts all traffic is routed via MX records to gmail servers. So no individual email accounts on server.

Any suggestions how I can shut Qmail server down yet still be able to send forms via email. If not how can I secure the system to the hacker/spammer cannot sent mail?

Hi there,

I'm not a qmail expert, but can you not configure it to only bind to localhost? That was the webforms, which I'm assuming are being served from the same machine, will be able to connect but external connections will be refused.
