    Deploying Honeyd


    Hey guys...I am trying to deploy honeyd and i am struggling..
    I have assigned arpd to the ip address...
    i have created this ip via a virtual ip on eth 0:1
    honeyd runs in the background as it should
    the ip responds to ping but when i nmap all i get is the ssh connection of my regular ip

    Anyone got any ideas??

    Deploying Honeyd

    You don't need an arpd unless you deploy your honeyd in other lan segment than your own. You only need to configure your conf file properly. Give me some details about your configuration (and network) and maybe I'll be able to help. Other thing is that you can't nmap your virtual host (and it's IP) from honeyd "server". You should use some other host.
