How to allow an ftp download (on 80)
Hi,
Warning, Newbie question.. I'm running SuSE 9 and have the firewall up and running. Browsing and/or downloading from e.g. tucows poses no problem. However, when I go to mozilla.org and click on a download link, I see that I'm redirected to 'ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.6a/mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu-1.6a-sea.tar.gz'. And after 10 seconds or so I get the errormessage:
An error occured while loading http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.....6a-sea.tar.gz:
Timeout on server
Connection was to ftp.mozilla.org at port 80
And that's the end of that.. How can I allow this type of 'ftp' download on port 80 to pass thru the firewall?
Thanks for your help,
Erik...

I think it's not related to you, but to the site you're connecting to. Correct me if i'm wrong

yes...i think port 80 is open since you can connect to the net, its some problem with the site you are connecting to...i hv experienced similar error messages myself...when just too many ppl connect to the server and the server cannot handle so many connections at once.
