router virus?? (SOLVED)
recently my internet connection is being really slow. pinging google gives me an average of 270ms. on a 512k. gaming is laggy too. i think that maybe my router has a virus on it, hogging bandwidth. is this possible? and if so, how do i eliminate it?
Here's why Linux is easier than Windows:
Package Managers! Apt-Get and Portage (among others) allow users to install programs MUCH easier than Windows can.
Hardware Drivers. In SuSE, ALL the hardware is detected and installed automatically! How is this harder than Windows' constant disc changing and rebooting?

What's your experience without the router? Is it sensibly faster?

the only way i can connect without the router is through a USB modem, which isn't fast anyway

i've been told that unplugging and replugging my router might fix the problem. i'll give that a try when i get home, but if anyone has any suggestions please tell me.Here's why Linux is easier than Windows:

Normally there should be an RJ-45 connector on your router too.

it doesn't matter it was solved. i just had to unplug and replug the router back into the mains. something about re-establishing a connection.
