Request: Suggestion for Simple Packet Filter/Firewall
I'm in need of a simple packet filter/firewall. By simple I mean effective, but I don't need all the features of iptables such as forwarding. I want to be able to write a simple port, protocol, allow or deny sort of thing.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

firewalls
I use Fedora Core 1 (not that it matters really). My box acts a firewall to share my broadband connection. So it runs NAT, port forwarding & standard filtering. I use firestarter to manage this. firestarter is just a GUI that allows you to simply manage iptables. would this be of use to you?
try these links:

if you want a firewall distro, i hear smoothwall is very good.No trees were harmed during the creation of this message. Its made from a blend of elephant tusk and dolphin meat.
