Packet Sniffing

Hi everyone,

I am linux newbie actually as part of my study in school i am suppose to configure sniffit as a packet sniffer but doing so i am having many problems. The problems are listed as:-

1> First i am using a bootable knoppix 5.0 debian linux
2> i downloaded the tar zipped file of sniffit.0.3.5.tar.gz on the desktop
3> I untar it on the desktop and then change directory to that folder
4> I login as root and do ./configure
5> I do a make in the directory and this is where i get errors where i m unable to create the sniffit executable

I would really appreciate if I can get some help on this

Can you post the errors you get?


Also, you don't need to log in as root for ./configure or make, only when you do make install.
