LVM recovery help
I have 4 hard drives in my FC6 server. My file system looks like this:
HDA1 /boot
HDA2 LMV1
HDB1 LVM1
HDC1 LVM1
HDD1 LVM1
Unfortunately, I put the OS on the LVM. HDC failed and can no longer be detected by the BIOS. I have another harddrive to replace it, but I can't recover the LVM metadata backup because, of course, it on the LVM (with the OS).
I have put the new drive in and used pvcreate to map the new drive to the old uuid, but it still tells me there is inconsistent metadata.
What do I do at this point? Any tips would be GREATLY appreciated. The data is very important to me.
In case I need to send it of to the professionals to recover the data, anyone have any tips on who to send it to?
Thanks.
