Any alternatives to NFS?
Evening all, we have a current setup,
7 webservers running behind a barracuda load balancer, separate postrgres database, and seperate file server for images that get used on the websites. Recently NFS keeps crashing, no errors being recorded, but since the mount fails, images are not being loaded, etc. A simply remount works fine until the next time.
So does anyone have suggestions or alternatives to sharing via NFS. These are centOS servers and I have heard of GFS and starting some reading, but not sure if anyone has feedback or ideas, I appreciate it.

It might be more helpful to find out why your NFS server is crashing. There should be an option in nfs to turn up the debug/output to give more information.
There are alternatives, such as using smbfs/cifs. But it would be much more helpful to fix the problem, it could be a problem affecting other services but you've only seen effects with NFS so far.Linux user #126863 - see http://linuxcounter.net/
