testing server from outside a network
Hello,
I'm a newbie being thrown into the world of server admin. I have successfully set up a redhat 9 raid1 setup and am starting to configure the server for virtual hosting. I have successfully been able to ping and connect to the server over a network as I statically assigned an IP address.
I would like to be able to test this server from a computer outside the network and am not quite sure what IP setup I would need to do this?
thanks for any help,
Clem C

How is the network set up? You would need to set the router to forward either the telnet or ssh (preferably) port to the server. Then ssh/telnet the outside IP of the network and voila! you have access to the server.
