    Mysql Server 4.0.2


    Hello, I have linux Slackware with mysql serve 4.0.2 and I want to configure it to accept connection from a client on the internet.
    Every time i try to connect it says "Can't connect to Server ip xxx.xxx....
    But in my local network I connect with no problems.

    Assuming you can establish a telnet connection to port 3306 on the mysql server, then you proberly need to add a user with correct permissions to login. See http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/Adding_users.html for more information.

    If you cannot establish the telnet connection, then it is a network related issue. Ensure any routers are doing the required portforwarding, and any firewalls are allowing the connection.
