    Bind9 Problem

    Hello,
    I am using Ubuntu 7.10 and have installed bind9. I configured it, and it seems to start correctly (when Ubuntu starts up). The only problem is when I try to stop it, it won't stop. Here's the message it gives me:

    rndc: connect failed: 127.0.0.1#953: timed out

    If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it

    It seems to start but have you checked if it is really running?
    Have you checked the log files to see that it started without errors?

    Code:
    ps -ef | grep named
    If it is running then post your named.conf without the zone information.
