Sendmail Multiple Sites

I am looking for some sendmail configuration guidance:
I have to 2 sites and would like each site to handle it's own email in/out. We do lots of transaction processing at both sites with 10-100K's of emails being sent out daily to end users. I would like to eliminate the email traffic from site 2 coming across my WAN connection to be sent out. The processing related emails would still need to appear from the same domain & account and I would also like the each sites local employee emails to be handled by that sites mail server as well. Is this simply a matter of adding addt'l MX record to my public DNS records for site 2's email server?

Any help with this would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
