i have a dedicated server, after restarting the server i have this problem when i try to start mysql :

..failed or took more than 6s.

Please take a look at the syslog.

/usr/bin/mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed

error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)'

Check that mysqld is running and that the socket: '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' exists!


Can't make it work, is good to know that i have 2 IPs for my server

The syslog sais, something like this :

Jun 5 20:48:11 a1335 pdns[23064]: gmysql Connection failed: Unable to connect to database: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (13)

Also in etc/mysql/my.cnf i have this :

If i change the user to root :

user = root , the mysql server starts but second IP still doesn't work properly and the domain isn't working too

Can anyone tell me what to do ?
