I currently use a SATA pci card and one of this tower

The price for this setup is reasonable. a bit less than $1k , not including the disks.

I heard that the cable connection of SATA is getting out-of-date. and there is a new and more popular type now.

Can anyone suggest a hardware set i can use for my storage? 10 or more drives tower.
