server configuration
hi all
this is Santosh from India.. I need some help regarding the server configuration.
I am trying to set up my lab of computational biology, I am in need to set up a file server and mail server for a small network domain of <30 nodes
.
SO, can anybody help me by giving the hardware configuration for such server
..
I would be greatful if you give details about the most suitable OS for it

Pretty much any Linux OS will be able to fulfill your needs. The most popular server distributions are Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Debian. Red Hat Enterprise Linux requires a subscription fee and if you do not want to pay that, then take a look at CentOS which is a free RHEL rebuild.
