ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server

Hi

I have working qmail with ldap, courier-imap and squirrelmail as webmail. Recently I have been facing problem while checking mails in browser i.e. thru squirrelmail. I get following error:

ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server

When I tried loggin in with telnet I got stuck with following error.

[root@mail1 ~]# telnet localhost 143
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.localdomain (127.0.0.1).
Escape character is '^]'.

After this I cannot log in with username and password in telnet.

I can use outlook express to receive/send mails without any problem. I think courier-imap crashed when I try to check mails thru webmail.

Server Restart solves this problem till I again go to webmail.

hey,

Try opening up another port ...that will solve ..donot restart the server
if the load goes up in qmail restart the service thats will do.
service qmail restart
try tweaking up the qmail that will help solving the problem
