To All,

Anybody know where i can find a detailed flowchart or sequential list containing the processes of sendmail from mail submission to delivery.....local and remote?

For local i know it goes along the lines of....MSP ---> Clientmqueue ---> MTA ---> Mailbox.

How about for remote?

The situation is this, i have two test sendmail servers, situated on a simulated WAN, i can telnet into each other and send mail (no problem), but when using the 'mail user@domain.com' command to send, the message gets routed back to the sending machine. The MX records are correct and they have associated A records, however, i read that a reverse lookup record is required, why? But before i go into the details of the setup, i think a flowchart would help me diagnose the issue fairly easily.

Any Ideas?
