    Syslog and Windows Events

    Hi guys,

been looking around for a Events Manager solution for Linux (therefore installed on Linux not Win).. I would like a solution that can collect Windows Event logs from Win servers and Syslog events from Syslog servers. and even better have a web interface which will enable me to configure alerts etc...

    Ps. Preferably open source.. thanks!

    Thanks

to have the syslog server hosted on linux and have it work correctly, you will need to install some sort of agent on windows.

splunk is a pretty good log server and has its own agent. Snare is a free agent that you can use. Syslog-ng is another server and you could use snare on windows.
