Hi,

I've been successfully running samba 2.2.x on a slackware 9 box for about a year now.
In the last few days I've tried upgrading to samba 3.0.6.
Everything is compiled and seems to be installed, yet when i run nmbd and smbd i get nothing.
No output, no log entries, nothing in the process list, they instantly exit.

root@entropy:/# /usr/local/samba/sbin/nmbd
root@entropy:/# /usr/local/samba/sbin/smbd
root@entropy:/#

Nothing!

Any ideas?
