    www proxy (squid)

    I'm looking to setup a web proxy server. From what I've read, Squid seems to be an excellent choice as a proxy server.

    A lot of the research I've done so far have implemented steps for Apache, iptables and squid. Since I simply want a www proxy, do I need Apache and iptables? I'm already using iptables but not sure if I need to run Apache.
