Test Server for SOHO and debate around OpenLDAP
I plan to set up a test server "type" for a company of 10 users approximatively.
I chose CentOS for centralized docs.
In general, if I can find many howto for SSH, FTP, Apache+PHP+MySQL, Postfix & Dovecot, SAMBA, OpenLDAP is not necessarily addressed.
So my question is : Do you think that authentification by LDAP is necessary for SOHO with 10 users ?
In SOHO, OpenLDAP whenever it is deployed ?
Is it possible, in year 2008, that enterprise under Linux, run without OpenLDAP ?
Often is it possible that companies under M$ run without a active directory.
Thanks a lot
PS : Sorry for my poor english

Yes, its possible. For 10 users, it'll be nice.
You might consider using Fedora Directory Server instead of OpenLDAP, I found it easier to use.
Other than that, go for it.Linux user #126863 - see http://linuxcounter.net/
