there you go, try adding that for your JAVA_HOME or JRE_HOME in catalina.sh and see if it works.

exit 1Sorry, it was unintentional.
You should have told me at least once and i could have fix it.
thanks for reminding me.
- 12-31-2008 #12I know its just me quoting myself, but what you added to catalina.sh is not what I recommended you to add. what happens when you change it to this?

can you be more specific then it simply doesn't work. whats the error message? the reason is because tomcat can not find your jre, thats what we are trying to fix. in your catalina.sh you put
/usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.6.0-openjdk/bin/
thats very different then
/usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.6.0-openjdk
so did you try it without the bin, because tomcat runs scripts based on JAVA_HOME/bin/
so if you add the bin in your catalina.sh file its going to look for java here
JAVA_HOME/bin/bin
which doesn't exist.
fedora set java_home - Google Search

thanx a lot jledhead!!!.
now i can access tomcat.
for that i had to do:
java_home=JAVA_HOME="/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_11/jre"
in catalina.sh .
and in catalina.bat:
export JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_11
export CATALINA_HOME=/opt/apache-tomcat-6.0.18/bin
i dont know whether it was needed in both files to set. but it worked for me also i didn't check in between settings.Sorry, it was unintentional.
