Cannot get Pure FTP to Run

I installed Pure FTP on my Linux Server running Fedora Core 6. In the box where it should say runnig I get the message "pure-ftpd dead but subsys locked" any ideas on why the deamon won't run. I have removed the installation and re installed no change.

just try restarting the service.. if u still have issues kill the ftp process then try restart.. if that to fails touch a file named ftp in subsys directory

Okay thanks got the Deamon to run. Now users cannot log onto the FTP. I am sure it is in the Config file just not sure were. I checked the firewall and made sure port 21 was open on the Router. Users get FTP folder error when they try to access the FTP site.

what is the error you get when users try to access via any client and post the result...

They get "Windows cannot access this folder. Make sure you typed the file name correctly and that you have permission to access the folder. Then it says in details the connection to the server was reset. A logn screen should come up as I turned annonomous off and set yes to cage every user in his home directory

check the permission of the folder and try access via filezilla and pate the logs
