    I would like to setup basic authenication for my apache web server.

    There are tons of tutorials on how to do this search Google. or go to the Apache documentaion they also tell you how to do it.

    I have tried one from googles. It didn't work. I created the .htaccess and the .htpasswd file. Put the files in the webpage directory, restart the web server. Still no good.
