    Linux Proxy Server

    Hi
Does anyone have a good guide on how to set up a good proxy server for Feodra 2 (or any distro)

I am planning in getting a proxy server.

The reason is that where I go to College they have Wi Fi but with out any encryption so I would connect to the web via the proxy. The connection to the proxy has to be with encryption of some sort.

squid is the famous proxy server under *inux systems.
but i am afraid it is hard to configure and setup for a newbie.
you can get some documents at http://www.squid-cache.org/

squid is not so bad to configure. I also use squidguard as the filter process for the squid

if you have APT installed in fedora
    #apt-get install squidguard
and it should grab squid for you as well

when you say it should have encryption of some sort, what do you mean? users have to log in or something. I don't think this would solve your wifi unrencrypted connection
