Poweredge 2550 / Micron CL2 ram question
Hi all,
We have a large lot of Micron memory that seems to be incompatible with our Dell Poweredge servers, although all the specs seem like they should work. I even called Micron and their tech said they should be compatible, but they are not. Only unusual thing about the memory is that it is CL2. It would not work in PE2550 or PE1650. Machines just beep and won't boot. Wondering if anyone might have any insight, or know what servers would be compatible with these modules? TIA!!!
Here are the specs:
Micron Part # MT18LSDT6472G-13ED2
Module Size: 512MB
PC133 133MHz SDRAM
ECC Registered
168 pins
Voltage: 3.3v
Low Profile
Single Bank
SIZE: 64Mx72=512M
CHIP SIZE: 4x16Mx4=64Mx4
CAS Latency CL2

What motherboards are in the PowerEdge systems? Also, did you check on the Dell site what the specs for the RAM was when shipped?
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!
