Fax Server - where to start
Hi Forum, We have a File, Proxy, Mail & Fax Server all in one and I would like to seperate the Fax Server to a dedicated pc/server. We use HylaFAX.
What basic steps are involved to setup the new server attached to the switch.
I only have a basic knowledge of Linux.
We have a pc and I have installed Mandriva 2008 and HylaFAX but I can not see HylaFAX as an application, it only shows me the front end for sending faxes. The server will not be a user terminal, just the fax server.
Appreciate your advice and best regards,
Bill

sounds like the server is setup, now you need to configure the client
Desktop Client Software - hylafax.org

Thanks jledhead, I have installed an internal modem and the line works but I am unable to send or rec faxes. How can I see where the modem is connected. I thought devices will be shown in /dev if I do "ls -l"
Because the modem is not serial then it should not be ttys0 - correct?? If so, then above, where can I see the modem device number??
Appreciate assistance and regards, Bill
