Need assistence in Apache virtual hosting..

Hi

I want to configure the virtual host for testing purpose whose name is say www.xyz.com. I created a user say tom now I want only he can access this website www.xyz.com no one else can access it and user tom should be able to host a site www.xyz.com on server. So now please guide how do I perform this activity. Thanks in advance

i kind loking something llike that but to specify
i have my own server fedora11 and ftp enable and apache server
i would like to host a second website
what file should i modify

i did add the virtual hosting in
httpd.conf
and i lost the first one i can connect only to the new one
<virtualhost :8080>
</virtual host>
should i modify the dns as well
i have my own dns working
how to work this out
