XAMPP 1.6.8a/Drupal 6.14/Ubuntu 9.04 - sites/default/ & settings.php permissions
Hello everyone,
I have a problem with a test drupal 6.14 install on a XAMPP 1.6.8a running on a Ubuntu 9.04 system. It is supposed to be a local test server for my site.
The drupal installer usually (eg when i run it on a hosted server on the net) does the job nicely, and given that the write permissions were given to the filess & directories in question at the beginning, he reverts to the safe mode, disabling writing for 'others'.
What's particulary surprising is that the server is ran as root, so it should not have any permissions problem. Isn't it that the httpd runs the php with the (root) permissions it has? Well, apparently not.
