Samba/CUPS as print-server
I am working on a project where i would like to install a printing system that makes it possible to print over my network.
There are 4 printers spread over the entire network. These printers should only be approached through a print-server. (I use SAMBA and CUPS as print-server because i use windows and linux clients)
To demand the use of the print-server I want to create a PRINT-vlan on my network with an ACL on it that only permits access to the SAMBA-server and denies any access direct to my printers.
Is this the right way to do this? Or won't my users be able to print because of the ACL?
Next question: Is it possible in SAMBA to control the amount of printing jobs that a user can do within a certain period?
Thanks in advance,
