How to raise /tmp directory size?

I have a script that leeches and streams file from other remote servers and it always uses the tmp directory for file streams. How can I fix it from clogging up my /tmp directory? Can I set it to a different /tmp directory? Thanks!

This is a community forum. You can't expect any answer, and not getting an answer after 12 hours isn't unreasonable anyways!
