    apache webserver


    Hello,

    I have fedora core1 installed with webserver. The httpd does not start. I tried to start it (service httpd start) manually but with no success. Here is what I get from the error_log file;

    " [alart] (EAI 2) Name or serice not kown: mod_unique_id: unale to find IPv4 address of "localhost.localdomain"
    Configuration failed "

    Anybody with any ideas wll be appreciated.

    add

    127.0.0.1 localhost


    to your /etc/host file


    but more importantly, have you taken any serious steps tword configuring apache? if so, what have you done?
